A limestone
promontory
rising out of Lake Trasimeno, Umbria’s “closed sea”, this is
Castiglione del Lago, on the border of Umbria and Tuscany,
the land of "Duca della Corgna".
The view from the town’s thirteenth century tower is
stunning: the rocky promontory drops down towards the Lake,
which is circled by gentle hills woven with vineyards and
olive groves.
This is where Cantina del Trasimeno wines
are born!
A line links the
history of this beautiful land to the present day, a line of
wines of ever-increasing quality, responding to the demands of
a growing and appreciative market.
